I should have took a photo of all the people holding up signs outside the airport but I forgot. I found our driver, Wendel, and he was holding this...
So off we went on a 3 hour drive to Manuel Antonio on the Pacific coast. My dentist appointment was moved back to Wednesday so why not spend a few days at the coast before I sit in the chair-o-torture? Anyhow on the way to the coast our driver stopped at a popular tourist spot where crocodiles can be seen from the roadway. The following photos are from that stop...
Then we arrived at our home for the next 3 nights which has a pretty decent view...
Then we crashed. Seriously we were so tired from the trip, not being able to sleep on the red eye flight, the 3 hour drive to the coast and so on. We did hear a strange noise last night coming from somewhere in our room. I finally found it hiding behind a painting on the wall...a white gecko. I couldn't catch the little guy as he was in shape and very quick and I'm....well....not. But I did mange to herd him out the patio door while Keli cheered me on from the other side of the room, "Get him honey get him!".

SUNDAY: We didn't wake up till 9:30 am! That is crazy late for us but we did feel better about it when we realized that actually it was 7:30 our time. We got up and headed to the beach. I will have to add the beach photos at a different time as I took them with my Canon and since my iPad doesn't have a SD card slot I can't upload them. Damn you Apple! I grabbed a kayak and went cruising out into the very calm and super warm Pacific Ocean. I had a blast and took tons of photos which you can't see thanks to DA (damn apple). Spent most of the day at the private beach and it was very nice. Seriously the water was like bath temperature...crazy warm. After kayaking I realized I forgot to put on sunscreen. The sun is VERY intense here since CR (Costa Rica) is much closer to the equator than what we are use to in the states. Did I get burned? You bet your ass I did. BRING AND USE SUNSCREEN!!!
We returned to our room to catch the sunset...
After the wonderful sunset we headed to the town of Quepos for a bite to eat. Found this great place at the marina...
We then walked around the little town of Quepos...
Watch where you're walking as the curbs here are brutal...
That's it for the update. I'll have to add those beach photos another time....DA! Or I will just take more tomorrow but this time use the correct device. A good excuse to get back in that kayak!
My fast approaching dental appointment is always on my mind. But I'm not nervous about it for some reason. Maybe because every time I look in the mirror I'm reminded that I not only need this done but I deserve it.
Pura Vida!
